Homeschool 101

Want to homeschool but don’t know where to start? Worried you can’t do it or your kids won’t get their needs met? Shannen Espelien will be hosting this event to answer these questions and help you feel like you know what your next step is if you choose to homeschool, in sha Allah.

Shannen is one of the co-founders of Inspire Community and has been homeschooling since 2009 with her four daughters ranging in age from 6 to 21 years old. Shannen holds a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and is currently working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Sciences. She greatly enjoys helping people in their homeschooling journey as she believes that many families can benefit from the flexibility that homeschooling allows.

In the workshop we’ll discuss:

• MN homeschooling law
• Virtual school, homeschool, and the difference between the two
• Local and online resources to get started
• Common questions such as how they can get into college, socialization, how to have enough patience, and more.
